American Tall is a company built by communities. From our community of employees, to you and the tall community, we're always working to better understand and support the communities we are a part of. #GivingTuesday is a day where we, and the rest of the global community come together to celebrate the act of giving, supporting, and making a difference for those in need. Â Â
During 2023, each employee at American Tall contributed $2 daily to a subsidized lunch program, with the goal of donating the proceeds in some fashion to a good cause for #GivingTuesday, on November 28th.
We'd learned that, because used socks aren't accepted at shelters for hygienic reasons, new socks are the number one requested donatable item. Our mission was to leverage our manufacturing contacts to produce new, donatable socks. To do that, we needed the help of our suppliers, our team & the tall community.
Socks are the most requested item by shelters, especially for winter.
All purchases made on #GivingTuesday equaled a donation of 1-5 pairs.
Together, our donations to 4 shelters in North America will make a difference.

With the help of the tall community, #GivingTuesday at American Tall was a huge success. Our employees and customers worked together to reach our goal of 50,000 pairs of socks, which have been donated to shelters in major cities across North America.
We’ve partnered with four shelters in major US and Canadian cities with the goal of donating 50,000 pairs of socks so they can distribute them to those in need.
For every purchase of $60 USD+ that was made on #GivingTuesday, a donation of socks was made, alongside the contributions of our employees. The more you purchased, the more socks were donated.
Because #GivingTuesday was such a success, we were able to donate 50,000 pairs of socks to our four partner shelters:
BronxWorks (New York)
The Beacon (Houston)
Urban Angels (San Francisco)
Salvation Army (Toronto)
