The Tall Glass Series: Bloody Good!

Be it a Mary or Caesar, we could think of no better way to kick off our tall glass cocktail series than with everyone’s favourite
hangover helpers.

Bloody Good

Bloody Mary

Lift your spirits with the classic morning-after-the-night-before cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 1 ½ ounces vodka
  • 3 ounces tomato juice
  • ½ ounces lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • A couple dashes of Worcestershire
  • A couple dashes of Tobasco
  • Celery stalk or dill pickle spear

To a highball glass, add dashes of Worcestershire, Tabasco, salt and pepper, swirl, and then fill with ice and all remaining liquids. Garnish with a celery stalk or dill pickle spear.

Bloody Caesar

Canada has more to offer than maple syrup, hockey and poutine: The country’s unofficial cocktail is also thought by many to be superior to the American Mary, thanks to the addition of Mott’s Clamato juice (tomato juice with clam broth and spices).

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 1 to 1 ½ ounces of vodka
  • 6 ounces Mott’s Clamato juice*
  • A couple dashes of hot sauce
  • A couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Celery salt
  • 1 celery stalk
  • Lime wedge

Rim a highball glass with lime and dip in the ground pepper and celery salt. Fill with ice. Add the vodka, followed by the Clamato juice, the Worcestershire and hot sauce (to taste). Garnish with a celery stick and stir.

*To make your own, mix 4 ounces clam juice with two parts tomato juice.
